Marvolo didn't intend to loose Blair to anyone.
And he would be damned if someone took her away from him without his approval. He had missed a lot in his absence, but intended to make up for it. Marvolo didn't care if father gave his blessings or not, he didn't care if Blair was in love head over heels for a guy, because men were disgusting, manipulative, horrid beings. [He should know, as that was the definition of himself.]
He imagined his sister being with the worst-case scinero kind of guy, one who didn't care at all for her feelings and just took constantly. No...he wouldn't allow it. Marvolo may have been the spitting image of his father in his youth, but he wasn't as heartless. There were few people in the world Marvolo cared about, and one of them was his sister.
Zeus poked his head out of his master's sleeve, obviously sensing that Marvolo was tense. The snake moved up his arm to drape itself over his shoulders, making sure to get a good grip. Zeus rubbed against Marvolo's face. This snake was unusually affectionate, but it really only acted this way toward Marvolo. The dark prince patted the snake on the head. "Not to worry Zeus...I sent them both owls...they should be coming soon."

Fed up and annoyed with not being able to get his hands on Blair, Kadien sat in his bed in his dorm glaring over at the bed that Malfoy normally occupied. Even when Blair was in her room Kadien couldn't get to her not because of the charm on the stairs any smart and capable wizard could disarm that but the charms and spells on her room were impossible to get through, even for him. Thus had annoyed him even more as his thoughts wondered just what she was doing. She was causing him to fail a mission given to him by the Dark Lord and he knew that there would be hell for him to pay if he didn't get it done.
Watching as an unknown owl flew into the room he cautiously picked it up wondering who could be writting him. Not many knew where he was or what he was doing so recieving a letter was a tad odd for him. Opening it his eyes scanned the parchment and his eyes nearly fell out of his head. Sure he had heard rumors about the Dark Lord having a son but with never meeting him he thought they were just that rumors of unimportance. However the letter in his hand had proved him wrong. Pushing up off his bed he walked out of the dorms, down through the common room and out to the Group Common Room.
Entering the room his eyes immediately fell on a boy with striking resemblance to the Dark Lord the most uncanning resemblance was the snake that was wrapped around his shoulders. Shaking his head wondering why a certain amount of fear had been etched into him he walked over and sat down on one of the couchs. "Something I can help you with?" Kadien asked wondering curiously why he had sent for him.

Marvolo rose to his feet, his eyes cold, face sullen. He showed no kindness, and the air about him seemed as cold and inviting as a pool in the middle of winter. This man was his enemy. His sister was appearantly promised to him, and Marvolo saw it as his job to deter this boy from seeing his sister again. He wanted to protect her as much as possible. A hissing noise was heard as Zeus noticed Kadien. He seemed to sense that Marvolo wasn't fond of him.
"I am Marvolo Rutherford. Proper manners would have you introduce yourself to me, but I already know your name, Kadien McCallister, so therefore introductions would be pointless and a further waste of my time." It was at times like these that Marvolo felt like a mimic of his father. Cold, commanding, somehow the focus of a room without even trying. He indicated a seat beside the fire and sat back down in his own.
"I am still waiting for another guest, so you'll forgive me if I don't rush into things. Would you like some tea?" The comment, during normal conversation, would be inviting and warm. But comming from Marvolo with the state of mind he was currently in, it was almost threatening.

Draco had just finished checking on Blair when he recieved and owl. He quickly took the letter and read it. The time had come. The Dark Lord's son was finally ready to met him. Taking one last looked at Blair he nodded his head as he knew what he had to do. He held the letter in his hand as he made his way to the group common rooms. He Knew Kadien would be there and he was well perpared to fight the guy. He scanned the letter again as he walked wondering why Marvolo had waited so long to send for them. But he knew better than to question the Dark Lord's son's reasonings he knew they had a purpose.
Pushing through the doors his eyes instantly landed on Kadien. He curled his lip at the sight of him and then turned his attention to Marvolo. He walked up to the boy before him and bowed. "Draco Malfoy as you have requested." he said not bothering to move until he was told too. He would show him the same kind of loyality and respect that he showed the dark lord. For this boy could be the next Dark Lord if he was not. "You sent for me my master's son. How can i be of service to you?" he questioned still bowed low at the boy's feet waiting for him to address him.

Marvolo turned his head as Draco entered. Well, the boy wasn't ugly, so he assumed the child would look alright. He never really met the Malfoys face to face, it was more along the lines of things he heard from mother or father. The young man did raise an eyebrow at Draco's respectful behavior. Well, at least he had tact, he would give the younger man that much in his regard. Marvolo nodded to Draco. "Please, have a seat." He said politely, keeping up to his reputation as a proper gentleman.
Draco seemed to be cunning. He knew Marvolo could have a place of power in the future and was already making his alliances. That was the thinking that Marvolo liked. It reminded him a bit of his own way of working out things. Marvolo was, after all, the son of the most feared wizard out there. Obviously one eager to return to a place of trust in his father's mind would behave around him. Perhaps Draco thought that he and his father were closer than they really were? How entertaining. The mere idea would have made Marvolo laugh.
"Draco, Kadien, I assume you both know why I called you here." He said, pointing his wand at the small table. The tea kettle there poured its contents into three identical crystaline cups. Marvolo was always the fan of crystals. He took his cup and sipped calmly from it. "If you didn't already realize, you are both involved with my dear sister Blair. As her elder brother, I have decided to take matters into my own hands and decide which of you would be the better choice. You can each plead your case to me, before I decide. I'm a very fair man, once you get to know me."

Draco straighten up and took a seat as he was told. He took the tea that Marvolo offerred him. He listened to what the boy before him said. He nodded his head as he knew that this time would come sooner or later. He looked at the guy beside him. The Enemy. He turned his attention back to the boy before him and saw the snake. He smirked and started to speak in parsel tongue to it. "Hello there. I am Draco Malfoy. You must be an Offspring of Niagini. You look almost excatly like her." he waved his wand and made a mouse appear and he handed it to the snake. "go on you can have it." he said to the snake

Kadien raised his eyebrow when the boy before him said that he already knew his name. Rutherford. Blair's brother, Kadien thought to himself with a curt nod. "No thanks." He denied the cup of tea not very thirsty and just wanted to know what was going on. His answer however was nearly answered when another male, one he knew, walked into the room. Glaring at the blonde hair boy that was his compitetion known as Draco Malfoy, Kadien sat straight up and looked back to Marvolo.
Hearing why they were there Kadien had to prevent himself from rolling his eyes. Watching Draco suck up to him Kadien coughed slightly. "Plead our cases?" He asked raising his eyebrow. "Your father has already made his choice. How does your decision over ride that?" Kadien asked. "How is dear Blair anyways Malfoy?" He faked smirked looking over at him. "I hear you've gotten my fiancee pregnant." He said bored not enjoying the concept of having to raise a child of another man as his own, especially this man.

Marvolo chuckled softly, as though laughing at his own private joke. Zeus eyed the mouse skeptically before striking in the blink of an eye, devouring the creature and thanking Draco. Marvolo tapped the third glass with his wand and the tea went back into its kettle. He looked at the pair of young men. He had his own reasons for calling them here, but first a more pressing matter had to be handled. Zeus hissed and Marvolo patted him calmly on the head, watching as the pair interacted. It was quite obvious that they weren't the best of friends.
Perhaps the Slytherin house is not as united as I once thought. Looks like that is yet another thing that I will have to change. Kadien had guts to speak to Marvolo in the tone he used, abraisive and somewhat rude, as though he were the one holding all the cards. How droll, how entertaining this was. To him, they were almost like little rats trapped in a maze, and he was the snake.
Marvolo, you musn't think of yourself like that. He scolded himself mentally. He made a resolution this year to work on his people skills a bit, maybe he would smile more often. He did so now. He had read that smiling makes people trust one easier, of course, in his case it didn't work out as he had wished. His smile was far more intimidating than he intended.
"Well, as far as you both are concerned, any relationship you have with my sister is null and void until you prove you are worthy of her." He looked from one to the other slowly, letting them take this peice of information in. "You see..." He reached into his robe and procured a pair of documents. "I have in my hand the only chance that either of you would ever have of getting near my sister, without being hexed of course." He smiled once more, but it quickly faded. "You both have a relationship with Blair, I am sure, and my father has graciously decided that I will be the one to decide for her."
